The core set of photographs by Jasanský and Polák from the 1990s (1995–1996) is characterized by a reductive aesthetic approach and a distinct humor typical of the artists. They deal with abstract practices in rendering reality in a completely objective, almost social environment. The purchase of 16 photographs Abstraction VI–XXI has been an extraordinary opportunity for Prague City Gallery because there are already five pieces of this series (Abstraction I–V) in its collections. Prague City Gallery has thus acquired the complete set of 21 photographs (for example, the Center Pompidou in Paris has only 10 such pieces), which will suitably complement the existing sets already in the Prague City Gallery collections by this artistic pair (Jokes, 1992; Nature, 1996–1997; Landscapes, 1999; County Photography, 1999–2000).
